Investigators have pinned down the probable cause of the engine problems that triggered a fire on a F-35 fighter jet, paving the way for the Pentagon to resume awarding deals for new aircraft and engines. The Pentagon on Tuesday said it had awarded Pratt & Whitney a $592 million deal to supply 36 of its F-135 engines for the jet.
