USAF's multi-billion dollar T-X jet trainer programme moves forward

The T-X programme, a U.S. Air Force acquisition initiative to replace the ageing T-38 Talon with a next generation jet trainer, has taken another step forwards with the Capabilities Development Document (CDD) due to be sent to the Pentagon in January.
According to AIN, Gen. Robin Rand, commander of Air Education and Training Command (AETC) confirmed the proposal is on track although it will "not express a preference for a single-engine aircraft versus a twin."
