Neil leads the Global Manufacturing Function for Rolls-Royce reporting to CTO Paul Stein. Neil was previously Director of Manufacturing Technology and Head of Additive Manufacturing. He Chairs and sits on various Steering Boards and Global Industrial panels. In his time leading Additive Manufacturing he industrialised Electron Beam Melting of large components to produce and build the world’s largest load bearing aero engine structure to fly in 2015 and his team were awarded the Sir Henry Royce award for Technology in Manufacturing in 2018 for their work in the development of very high temperature nickel alloy capabilities using laser Powder Bed Fusion. Neil joined Rolls Royce in 2011, having previously been Managing Director of MAG Industrial Automation Systems UK and before that Director Engineering (Europe) where he’d spent 20+ years with the group. Neil started his career with GKN Powder Metals. He holds a B Eng. (Hons) degree in Mechanical Engineering (UCE) and an MBA from Warwick Business School.
