Lukas Jiranek is the Senior Lead Engineer for Materials and Manufacturing Technology at the Boeing Research & Technology (BR&T) team in Europe, based in the UK. In addition to his role at BR&T, he oversees global engagements for Boeing’s Additive Manufacturing organization. Lukas started his career in R&D, working on advanced manufacturing projects at Fraunhofer IFAM in Germany and later at the University of Sheffield, focusing on the development of new technologies from lab to production-scale solutions. Before joining Boeing, he applied his technical and managerial expertise to guide technology start-ups and scale-ups in the Powder Metallurgy field toward successful transitions in the aerospace and defense sectors. At Boeing, Lukas is responsible for providing technical leadership, shaping technology strategy, and overseeing R&D efforts within the engineering team. The team’s project portfolio includes the development of novel materials, processes, and applications that support all Boeing business units.
