Nick Cruchley

Advanced Research Engineer MTC

Nick Cruchley is a Technical Specialist at the National Centre for Additive Manufacturing at the Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC). Nick is the metal powder bed fusion capability lead at the MTC and has gained over 10 years’ experience in AM through academic and industrial work, including optimisation of manufacturing process and qualification programmes for AM components. Nick has developed the processing parameters for several unique materials across a number of industries including space, aviation and automotive. Nick has worked across numerous metal additive manufacturing (AM) technologies and has a broad range of knowledge across several other advanced manufacturing processes. His PhD focused on utilising AM to repair gas turbine components in the aerospace industry, working in collaboration with Rolls-Royce.
