Born 22 September 1967.
BGen Primdahl took up the position as DCOM JACO in May 2022 coming from a position as ACOS at ACT/NATO. He joined the Danish Army in 1987 in the Queen’s Life Regiment.
He was commissioned Lt. in 1994 with the Danish Logistics Regiment. Upon officer’s advanced training he was promoted to Captain in 2000 and after the Army- and General Staff course promoted to major in 2005. In 2007, he was promoted to Lt. Colonel and in 2015 to Colonel. Upon assuming the position as ACOS Requirements in ACT in 2018, he was promoted to BGen. From 2007 to 2011 Primdahl was stationed in Belgium at SHAPE as Head Planner in J5 within the ISAF team.
In 2011 he was appointed CO and took command over 2nd Combat Service Support Battalion. In 2012, Primdahl assumed the post as Head of Logistics at Army Operational Command, Denmark and he took up the position as J4 in the Danish Defence Command in 2014. From 2015 to 2018, Primdahl served in Brussels with the Danish Military Representative to NATO as military advisor and team leader responsible for policy and plans. From 2018 to 2022, heading the ACT/NATO Requirements Division in Norfolk VA, Primdahl was responsible for turning operational needs of the NATO Command Structure into common funded capability requirements. Primdahl deployed in Namibia with the UNTAG mission in 1989/90.
He was twice deployed to Bosnia; in 1995 in Sarajevo under UNPROFOR and in 2001 as OC in Doboj under SFOR/NATO. In 2014, he was deployed to Afghanistan as Director HQ Transition Team under NTM-A/ISAF. Poul Primdahl is for 30 years married to Linda and they have three children, a daughter of 28 and two sons of 26 and 22. BGen Primdahl was awarded Knight of the Danish Order of the Dannebrog. He has received mission medals from NATO, UN and nationally.
