Justin Putnam

Associate Technical Director US Army Corps of Engineers Research and Development Center

Justin Putnam was born and raised in Topsham, VT and graduated from Oxbow High School in 1994. He then attended Norwich University in Northfield, VT where he graduated in 1998 with a B.S. in Civil Engineering and commissioned into the US Army as an Engineer. Over a 20 year career he lived in Missouri, Alabama, Korea, Alaska, Washington, Virginia and Massachusetts with deployments to Nicaragua, the US-Mexico border, Iraq and Afghanistan. He retired from active duty service in 2018 and moved back to the Upper Valley. He currently lives in Orford, NH with his two sons Logan and Grady and he works for the US Army Corps of Engineers in Hanover, NH on arctic military technologies.

Justin is involved in the local community and currently sits on the Board of Directors at Northeast Slopes in East Corinth, VT. Justin is also Scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 273 in Lyme, NH and regularly can be seen in the Upper Valley working on service projects with the Scouts. He travels quite often for work but any free time after work travel and volunteering is spent with family.
