Lieutenant Colonel Ralph Peter

Lieutenant Colonel Ralph Peter is the Commander of the Armoured Engineer Battalion 803 in Havelberg, Germany. Prior to becoming Battalion Commander in September 2018, LtCol Peter served as the Country Director for the Americas at the Policy Directorate of the German Ministry of Defense. Following graduation in 1998, he served in a variety of assignments as platoon leader, XO, and company commander, as well as public relations officer. He was deployed to Bosnia and Hercegowina and Afghanistan, most recently in 2017 as German Strategic Advisor to then COM RS General John W. Nicholson. In addition to his master’s degree in education sciences, he has a master’s degree in military arts and sciences. He is also a graduate of the general staff officer courses at the Bundeswehr Command and Staff College as well as CGSC, Ft. Leavenworth USA.
