Special Projects and Future Search (SPFS) DE&S

Richard Hunter is the head of Special Projects and Future Search (SPFS) at Defence Equipment & Support (DE&S).

The SPFS team oversees a variety of smaller fast paced projects which quickly respond to evolving operational needs to deliver high quality, well supported equipment to the end user. Increasingly projects are ‘Agile by default’ looking to utilise spiral development and pipeline approaches to deliver early operational advantage. The team works closely with Army, DSTL, SME companies and wider industry.

Richard has previously served in the military prior to joining DE&S. He is passionate about establishing and sustaining environments which allows the delivery team to succeed, creating strong relationships with stakeholders and exploiting opportunities and lessons.
