Colonel Andrew Konicki

Program Manager, Ground Based Air Defense PEO Land Systems, US Marine Corps

Colonel Konicki was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in 2001 via the Reserve Officer Training Corps upon graduating from Miami University (Ohio) with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance.

A former Marine Corps Logistician (MOS 0402), Colonel Konicki served in multiple operational and supporting establishment billets providing logistical support. He served in multiple theaters to include Okinawa, Japan; Thailand; and Iraq.

Deploying to Iraq in 2007, Colonel Konicki served as the Battalion Logistics Officer for 1st Reconnaissance Battalion, 1st Marine Division. In 2008, Colonel Konicki deployed again to Iraq serving as the Regimental Combat Team 5 Motor Transport Officer.

Following his operational tours, Colonel Konicki attended the Expeditionary Warfare School (EWS) in Quantico, Virginia. Upon graduation, he received orders to Marine Corps Systems Command for his first acquisition tour as the High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV) Project Officer.

Since his first acquisition tour starting in 2010, Colonel Konicki has served in several capacities across multiple acquisition commands to include PEO Land Systems, Naval Sea Systems Command (PEO Ships), Marine Corps Systems Command, and the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Research, Development, and Acquisition.

Those billets include: National Capital Region Operations Officer for the Joint Program Office, Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV); Marine Corps Advisor to PMS 317 for LPD 17 Class new construction and LSD 41/49 Class replacement; Satellite Communications Product Manager; Program Manager for Infantry Combat Equipment, and Chief of Staff for the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Navy (Air/Ground) within the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Navy (Research, Development, and Acquisition). Colonel Konicki is currently the Program Manager for Ground Based Air Defense with PEO Land Systems where he leads all developmental, fielding, and sustainment efforts for Counter-Unmanned Air Systems.

Colonel Konicki is also a former Secretary of Defense Executive Fellow serving with the Microsoft Corporation.

Colonel Konicki’s personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (x2), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (x2), the Meritorious Service Medal (x4), and the Legion of Merit. Colonel Konicki is also the recipient of the Colonel Richard “Dick” Bates Award and the NAVSEA Innovation Award.

He holds Master degrees in Business Administration and Systems Analysis, and is a Defense Acquisition Corps member and DAWIA Advanced certified in Program Management.
