Colonel Rómulo García

71st Air Defence Artillery Regiment Commander Spanish Armed Forces

Colonel Rómulo García was born in Spain (Menorca) in 1973. He was graduated from the Army Military Academy in 1997 as Artillery Lieutenant. In 1997-2001 he was assigned as Artillery Platoon Commander at the 10th Infantry Brigade. In 2001 -2008, as Captain, he was assigned as Air Defence Artillery Battery Commander and Electronic Countermeasures officer in the 81st ADA Regiment. In 2009 he became a Spanish Joint Staff officer, being posted as Major in the NATO Rapid Deployable Corps HQ (Spain) at Operations Division as a Fire coordination staff planner and afterwards as a doctrine and policy staff officer. In 2014-2017 he was assigned at Eurocorps HQ in France as operational planner at the Tactical Operation Center. In 2017-2020 he was assigned as Lieutenant Colonel at the 12th Armored Brigade in Madrid as Chief of Staff (COS). In 2020 he was assigned, as staff officer, at the Army Staff HQ (Madrid) in the Plans Division, at the strategy, organization and plans department and later on at the Command and Control department. Finally, in 2024 he was assigned as Colonel to his current position, 71st Air Defence Artillery Regiment Commander. He served in different operational deployments; SFOR in Bosnia Herzegovina (2003), EUTM Somalia (2011), ISAF (2013), EUTM Mali (2015) and UNIFIL Lebanon (2019)
