Dr Illimar Ploom

Lecturer in Emerging Technologies and Innovation Baltic Defence College

Illimar Ploom is lecturer in Emerging Technologies and Innovation at the Department of Leadership and Management Studies at the Baltic Defence College. He holds a doctoral degree in modern history (D.Phil.) from Oxford University. He has worked as a researcher and lecturer at Tartu University and Tallinn University of Technology, and as an associate professor at the Estonian Military Academy. His research interests include innovation and defence industry, procurements, military technologies, European security and defense initiatives, EU-Russia relations, resilience and comprehensive defence, and strategic narratives.
