Director Land Requirements – Artillery Systems Canadian Armed Forces

Lieutenant-Colonel John Zwicewicz is the Artillery Requirements Section Head in Director Land Requirements at Canadian Army Headquarters. With over 16 years of service as an artillery officer, LCol Zwicewicz has held a range of key roles, including forward observation officer, target acquisition battery commander, and senior positions in strategic and operational headquarters within Joint Targeting. He holds graduate degrees in Defence Studies, Public Administration, and Human Resources Management, and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). In his current role, LCol Zwicewicz has been a driving force behind Canada's artillery modernization program, having overseen the requirements development leading to contract award and integration of new capabilities such as the RBS-70NG, Loitering Munitions systems, and Counter-UAS solutions. He is currently focused on the implementation of the Long Range Precision Strike (Land) project, as outlined in Canada’s Defence Policy Update, and on finalizing the policy proposal for the Indirect Fires Modernization project.
