Major Aires Carqueijo graduated from the Portuguese Military Academy in 2007, where he obtained a degree in Military Sciences, specializing as an Artillery Officer. From 2007 to 2020, he served in the 4th Artillery Regiment, within the 105 Towed Howitzer Field Artillery Battalion of the Rapid Reaction Brigade. Within the framework of NATO commitments, he integrated the Field Artillery Batteries designated for NRF 14, 17, 2015, and 2016. Additionally, he completed two deployments, the first in Kosovo, within the Parachute Infantry Battalion, and the second in Lithuania, in the spectrum of Assurance Measures, as Commander of a Field Artillery Battery. In 2021, he completed the General Staff Course and was assigned to the Army General Staff, where he serves as Capabilities Area Coordinator and is part of the Army's Strategic Project Management Office. In this role, he acts as the Portfolio Manager for all artillery projects under the Military Investment Law. Additionally, he is the national representative for the ICGIF/NAAG and the ASCA Interoperability Program.
