Lieutenant Colonel Simen Sandum

Deputy Director NATO's Centre of Excellence for Cold Weather Operations

Sandum is an Norwegian army officer with varied background from the Norwegian armed forces. He started his service in 2002 at Norwegian Army Cavalry NCO School, graduated from the Norwegian Military Academy in 2009 and the Norwegian Command and Staff college in 2021. During his service he has served several years in field-functions north of the polar circle. As an officer he has served in various army-positions reaching from platoon leader with a deployment to Afghanistan to Commanding Officer of a light infantry rapid reaction task force. He has been the deputy Director of COE-CWO since August 2021.
