Lieutenant General Salvatore Camporeale

Deputy Chief of Staff Italian Army

Lieutenant General Salvatore Camporeale joined the army in the 1980 and appointed as Armoured Cavalry officer of the 162nd "Honor" course of the Military Academy in Modena. He attended various academic and university courses, including the 119th General Staff and Higher General Staff Course, the 3rd Joint Services Staff College (ISSMI), as well as the Royal College of Defense Studies (RCDS) in London. He has degrees in Strategic Sciences and in International and Diplomatic Relations and earned a Master's Degree in Institutional Communication. He was Commander of Army tank units from platoon up to brigade level, Military Assistant and Aide-de-Camp to the President of the Italian Republic, Commander of the Military Academy, Deputy Commander of the NATO Resolute Support Mission in Afghanistan, Commander of the Training and Specialization Command and Army Doctrine, Commander of the Northern Operational Forces Command and Commander of the Army Land Operational Forces. He also held various and different staff positions at Defense General Staff and Army General Staff. In April 2024 he was appointed as Deputy Chief of Staff of the Army.
