Lieutenant Colonel Ron Dresen's military career began in 1988 when he was commissioned as an Infantry Officer. He commenced his career in the Mechanized Infantry, serving as a Platoon Commander in an Armored Infantry Company, before transitioning to the Light Infantry in 1993. Within the NLD 11th Air Maneuver Brigade (AMB), Lt Col Dresen held a variety of leadership roles, demonstrating his versatility and leadership capabilities. From commanding heavy mortars to serving as a Company Commander of an Infantry Company, he exhibited strategic prowess and operational acumen. Notably, his responsibilities extended to liaison roles within the NLD Helicopter Command, highlighting his ability to foster cooperation between ground and air units. Following completion of the Major Course in 2007, Lt Col Dresen continued to elevate his leadership capabilities, assuming roles such as Senior Observer, Trainer & Evaluator at the Land Training Center. In 2015, he was appointed as one of the 11th AMB's Executive Officers within the Division Schnelle Kräfte (DSK)( Rapid Forces Division), where he played a pivotal role in enhancing interoperability and integration within a German light infantry division. During his career, Lt Col Dresen has undertaken numerous deployments, including two times to Bosnia and four times to Afghanistan. In each mission, he displayed remarkable courage and resilience in challenging circumstances. Presently, he serves as the commander of the NLD Urban Ops Training & Skills Platoon, beside he is also the SME Urban Ops at Army level.
