Nicky has worked at Dstl for over 20 years and specialises in human performance. Nicky’s research portfolio has focussed on strategies to optimise and enhance the performance of defence personnel who are exposed to multiple different stressors, resulting from the operating environment, activity and equipment. Nicky’s work has had influence in the UK and overseas through her leadership of several international research projects that aim to mitigate human performance challenges in defence. Nicky’s current role as Technical Authority for human augmentation involves exploring opportunities presented by novel and emerging technologies. Nicky’s work develops technology concepts to identify if they could add value in the defence and security environment.
