Colt Canada (formerly known as Diemaco) was founded in 1974 to support the Canadian Department of National Defence (DND) with its small arms requirements. Colt Canada is DND’s Centre of Excellence for Small Arms and Sole Source of Supply as part of Canada’s Munitions Supply Program (MSP). The MSP positions Colt Canada the small arms technology and support base with the domestic capability for manufacturing and design, including depot repair and overhaul, product development, engineering services, technical publications, and small arms component production. Internationally, Colt Canada has established itself as a leader in the global small arms industry serving as a full system and program provider to its end-users. Colt Canada has over 45 years of experience serving both domestic and international militaries and special forces groups, including, but not limited to, Canada, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Denmark, and Norway. Colt Canada’s Engineering Team is relentless with innovating new product variants based on feedback received from end-users in the field. With our intimate customer relations, they have made more than 200 design improvements since the inception of the original C7 and C8 when the Canadian Government purchased the technical data package for the Colt M16 and M4. Colt Canada operates under a tight tolerance manufacturing philosophy which ensures quality and full ‘parts interchangeability’. Its products have been developed, tested, and qualified in accordance with NATO Evaluation Procedures for Future Small Arms Weapon Systems (AC/225(LG/3-SG/1)D/14). Since 2021, Colt Canada is a wholly owned subsidiary of Colt CZ Group. As part of this international group of firearms manufacturers, Colt Canada has further expanded and is able to diversify its product offerings and support throughout customer fleets.
