Combat Air Force Commander & Air Officer Combat Air Royal Air Force
Commissioned into the Royal Air Force in 1994, Air Cdre Arthurton spent his early career flying the Tornado GR4, qualifying as a weapons instructor and completing an exchange tour with the USAF on the B-2. Latterly he has worked in the UK’s Permanent Joint Headquarters as the Joint Effects lead and gained valuable exposure to operational command and control as the Combined Air Operations Centre Director for the 609th AOC in Al Udeid.
Air Cdre Arthurton became the Lightning Force Commander in 2019 before broadening his portfolio and assuming command of the UK’s Combat Air Force in Jan 2021.
