Captain Vincent Isorce

Head of Training Division French Naval Aviation

Vincent Isorce was born on November 5, 1980 in Avignon (84).

He joined the Naval Academy in 2000. After three years of training, he embarked for 5 months on board Jeanne d’arc helicopter carrier before being graduated as a navy officer. He then began his naval aviator training receiving his fighter pilot wings in 2006.

Back to Landivisiau NAS, he served 3 years with 17F Squadron flying « Super Etendard Modernisé » (SEM). During this time, he was deployed to Afghanistan at Kandahar expeditionary AB supporting coalition ground troops engaged in ISAF operation.

From 2009 to 2011, he was assigned as an exchange officer within US NAVY VFA 106 squadron, at Oceana NAS, Virginia. He acted as an instructor pilot in the OCU (FRS).

When he came back to Landivisiau NAS, he made his transition to the Dassault Rafale M and became division Lead with 11F Squadron. In 2013, he joined 12F Squadron as the operations officer (OPSO). A year later, he switched back to 17F Squadron as the executive officier (XO) flying again SEM. Then, in 2016, as the commanding officer (CO), he transitioned the unit to Rafale. He made three tours in Irak and Syria (Chammal operation - OIR) from the aircraft carrier in 2015 and 2016, and from Jordania in 2017. Meanwhile, he prepared and participated to the deployment Chesapeake in spring 2018 at NAS Oceana and on board the USN aircraft carrier USS G.W. Bush.

In 2018, after graduating from French War College in Paris, he joined ALAVIA (French naval aviation HQ) as the head safety officer. Moreover, for the fourth time, he was deployed in support of operation OIR as national approval authority into the CAOC, at Al Udeid AFB.

From July 2021 to July 2023, he commanded the Carrier Air Group including 3 Rafale M squadrons, the E-2C Hawkeye squadron and two HLO detcachments. He was deployed during CLEMENCEAU 22 and ANTARES French Carrier strike group missions, facing the launch of RU offensive in UKR while supporting OIR from the Eastern-Med. During these two years, he strove to better prepare the air group to fight in an high intensity environment and led it on multiple theater of operations.

Vincent Isorce has been nominated Chief of Naval Air Training & Operations at ALAVIA HQin July 2023. He has more than 3000 flight hours and 350 carrier landings (including 100+ at night) on 5 different aircraft carriers. He was made chevalier de la Legion d’Honneur.
