Colonel Glen Whelan

Chief, Next-Gen Air Dominance Division, Directorate of Plans, Programs and Requirements, Air Combat Command U.S. Air Force

Colonel Glendon C. Whelan is the Chief, Long Range Kill Chain and Next-Gen Air Dominance Division, Directorate of Plans, Programs and Requirements, Air Combat Command. He leads a team of 32 military, civil service, and contract support personnel to develop Long Range Kill Chain (LRKC) and the Next Generation Air Dominance (NGAD) Platform, and establishes requirements for technology integration and employment concepts. Col Whelan was born in Point Pleasant, New Jersey. He received his commission from the United States Air Force Academy in May 2001. He has served in a variety of flying and ground operations positions to include multiple fighter squadrons in ACC and PACAF, the Air Force Aggressors, AETC flight instructor, ACC Staff and F-22 Adversary Air support. Col Whelan has combat experience from Operation IRAQI FREEDOM where he was the Senior Air Director attached to the US Army’s 18th Airborne Division, executing air support for ground operations.
