Lieutenant General (Ret'd) Joseph "Gus" Guastella

Corporate Vice President and Regional Executive for Europe & Middle East Northrop Grumman

Joseph “Gus” Guastella is corporate vice president and Regional Executive for Europe & the Middle East for Northrop Grumman Corporation.

Guastella is responsible for enabling the company’s business development strategy across the two regions.

Prior to joining Northrop Grumman in 2023, Guastella was a Lieutenant General in the United States Air Force, serving most recently as Deputy Chief of Staff, Operations, responsible for the development and execution of operations policy for all USAF personnel. In his 35 year USAF career he served in a number of domestic and international leadership roles supporting large-scale air and space operations. Guastella began his Air Force career as an F-16 pilot.

Guastella earned a bachelor’s degree in astronautical engineering from the US Air Force Academy; a master’s degree in aero science technology from Embry Riddle University as well as a master’s degree in national security strategy from the National War College. Guastella speaks fluent German.

Presently, he serves as a Non-Resident Fellow at The Mitchell Institute for Aerospace Studies.
