Major Peter Bystriansky

Major Peter Bystriansky joined the Slovak Armed Forces in September 2005 and graduated from the Military Academy of General Milan Rastislav Štefánik with a Bachelor’s degree in Military Management. After completion of Bachelor’s degree, he was promoted to a second lieutenant and continued external studies in Military Management to attain a Master’s degree in 2011. His first assignment was to 12nd MechBn, 1st MechBde, Land Forces, where he served as a Mortar and FS platoon leader from July 2009 to December 2013. He served as the 2IC of Force Protection Company in operation ISAF during the deployment in Afghanistan in 2014. After redeployment assumed duty as the Deputy Commander of the Combat Support Company until December 2017. Then his career continued as the Combat Support Company OC and from 2019 he served as the Mechanized Company OC through the eFP deployment in Latvia until the end of 2020. From beginning of 2021 until 2023 he held position Chief of Fires & Combat Support of 1st MechBde. From May of 2023 he continued as 12nd MechBn Deputy Commander. Since August 2023 until present he holds position in Armament Department as the project manager and subject matter expert. His military education includes Infantry and Artillery School, Fire Support Courses and Leadership’s studies. His awards and decorations include the Army Commendation Medal, the ISAF Non-Article 5 Medal, Veterans Medal, Medal of Merit 3th class and others. Major Bystriansky was born in 1986 (Slovakia) and his personal life became full with his wife Zuzana and daughter Stela (4) and Sofia (2).
