Air Marshal José Madureira Junior graduated from the Brazilian Air Force Academy in 1988. During his career, he specialised in airlift tactics and logistics, qualifying in several courses, including: High Administration and Strategic Politics Course, Postgraduate in Project Management, Postgraduate in Public Administration Strategic Planning, Airlift Tactics, Visual Recon, All types of Airlift missions performed by the Brazilian Air Force (including Antarctic Operations), Maintenance and Supply Course, Project Manager, and others. He is a K/C-130H, HS-748 (AVRO), and Embraer Legacy 600 aircraft instructor pilot. In his professional experience, he achieved, among others, the qualification of AAR Instructor, SAR Pilot, Operations on Unprepared/Unpaved runway (Antarctic Operation), Medevac Missions, Personnel and Material Airdrop. He has more than 6,000 hours of flight. AM Madureira participated in several operations around the world during his time as a crew member (as a pilot, as well as a logistic officer). He was also the SQN Operations Officer of the 1º/1º Transport Group (C-130) and the Commander of the 1º/5º Aviation Group (Instruction Squadrons for new airlift pilots).
