Colonel Dimitar Pavlov

Deputy Commander of Flight Training, 24 Air Base, Bulgarian Air Force

Colonel Dimitar Pavlov is a flight training Deputy Commander in 24 Air Base - Krumovo, Bulgarian Air Force. He graduated the Air Force Academy in 1993 and was promoted a lieutenant, then he was assigned in 24th Air Base - Krumovo. In 2010 he graduated Rakovski National Defence College as a command staff officer and in 2018 he had a Master's degree in Strategic Management of Defense and the Armed Forces. Colonel Pavlov has passed command's levels as a unit commander, deputy squadron commander, chief of A7 (standardization, evaluation and exercises) in 24ab and currently he occupies the position of flight training Deputy Commander. Colonel Pavlov has flown L-29 and L-39 airplanes, and he still keeps on flying Mi-17 and AS 532 AL Cougar helicopters. He has up to 3000 flight hours. Colonel Pavlov has participated in many national and multinational exercises as "Cooperative Key", "Jackal Stone", "Green Blade", "Immediate Response", etc. He has passed TACEVAL (2009) as a deputy module commander (MEDEVAC) and he has performed three rotations in USAGs Hohenfels and Grafenwöhr, Germany as a module commander with AS 532 AS helicopters. Colonel Pavlov is both Mi-17 and AS 532 AL helicopters flight instructor and firefighting instructor. He has performed many firefighting missions not only in Bulgaria but also in Republic of Montenegro and Republic of North Macedonia. He speaks fluently English and Russian languages.
