Rear Admiral Dato' Roslan bin Mohd Yunus

Rear Admiral ROSLAN Mohd Yunus joined the Royal Malaysian Navy in 1981. Prior to receiving his wings, as a junior officer, Rear Admiral ROSLAN served on board Patrol Crafts and Fast Attack Crafts as Navigator, Gunnery Officer and Executive Officer. He got his Wings in 1989 and served as Operational pilot with RMAF Helicopter Squadrons before getting his posting back to the Navy in 1992. He again served in the RMAF as a Qualified Helicopter Instructor at the Airforce College in 2000. Rear Admiral ROSLAN was promoted to Commander in 2005,while commanding Squadron 501 the Super Lynx Squadron before being appointed as the Air Wing Commander in 2009. On completion of his studies at the Malaysian Armed Forces Defence College in December 2010 where he obtained a Master Degree in Defence and Strategic Studies, Rear Admiral ROSLAN was appointed as the Commanding Officer of the Training Frigate KD HANG TUAH in January 2011 before being given the Command of KD SRI INDERASAKTI the Multi-Purpose Command and Support Ship in July 2011. Rear Admiral ROSLAN was promoted to Captain while commanding KD HANG TUAH. On completion of his sea command, Rear Admiral ROSLAN was again appointed as the Air Wing Commander in July 2012 and was later appointed as the Commanding Officer of the RMN Naval College, KD SULTAN IDRIS 1 in 2014. He assumed the appointment of Director of International Relations and Naval Exercise of the Navy HQ, Ministry of Defence Kuala Lumpur, in January 2016 on his returned from the Centre of Defence and Strategic Studies, Australian Defence College, Canberra, Australia in 2015. In March 2017, Rear Admiral ROSLAN was appointed as the Deputy Head of Mission, International Monitoring Team Mindanao Batch 12 in the Philippines where he was promoted to the rank of First Admiral. In April 2018 on his return from the Philippines Rear Admiral ROSLAN was appointed as the Commander of Naval Aviation of the Royal Malaysian Navy and assumed the appointment of Lumut Base Commander on 12 Nov 2018 and was promoted to Rear Admiral on 22 June 2019. He was appointed to the current post of Assistant Chief of Staff Operations and Exercises of Navy HQ Ministry of Defence on 9 Oct 2019. Rear Admiral ROSLAN is married to Liza and were blessed with 2 daughters and 2 sons. He is a keen badminton player and enjoys local and traditional music
