A Letter From SecAus24's Event Director, Joe Biggins

Dear Colleagues,

It is with great excitement that I, as the director of the Secure Australia conference (#SecAus24), announce the forthcoming event to be held in the heart of Sydney’s Central Business District (CBD) from November 12th to 14th, 2024.

In an era of rapid global security evolution, Australia stands at a pivotal moment, facing the need to adapt to emerging threats while maintaining national resilience. Shifting global power dynamics, non-conventional security challenges, and the relentless advance of technology all contribute to this complex landscape. Coupled with challenges in talent shortages, skills gaps and diversity and inclusion, as well as the ambitious target of Net Zero 2050, it is evident that our nation is at a critical juncture.

SecAus24 aims to unite leaders and experts from Australia’s security agencies and international partners, fostering the exchange of best practices and crucial insights to fortify our nation against multifaceted threats.

Day One of the conference will spotlight the Indo-Pacific security landscape, followed by deep dives into securing our frontiers across maritime, air, space, and cyber domains, with a focus on cutting-edge technologies. Recognising that effective security strategies must start from within, Day Two will centre on digital transformation, workforce development, emerging technologies, and agile procurement practices.

Our forum offers an intimate setting for dialogue, blending industry insights with innovative technological solutions. Through strategic discussions, technological showcases, and collaborative brainstorming sessions, participants will collectively navigate the dynamic security landscape, paving the way for enhanced collective security measures.

I eagerly anticipate your presence in Sydney this November as we come together to shape the future of security.

I look forward to seeing you in Sydney this November.

Kind Regards,
Joseph Biggins
