Deputy Executive Assistant Commissioner Peter Jaquez oversees more than 4,000 personnel at nearly 500 locations, providing essential support to all CBP employees and operations. Joining the U.S. Border Patrol in 1997, Jaquez was first assigned to the Van Horn Station in Texas. He was later appointed Acting Chief Patrol Agent of the El Paso Sector in 2022 and became the Executive Director for CBP Workforce Care in 2023. His career has included leadership roles such as Patrol Agent in Charge of El Paso Station, Associate Chief of Specialty Programs, and Interim Deputy Executive Director for Mission Readiness Operations.
