Flight Dynamics Group Swiss Armed Forces’ Space Domain

First Lieutenant Jonathan Magnin (OF-2) is currently in charge of the Flight Dynamics Group at the Swiss Armed Forces’ Space Domain whose Head is Col GS Ludovic Monnerat. As a militia officer, 1st Lt Magnin went through basic training in 2018 in the Swiss Air Forces and had the privilege to join the Space Domain in 2021. During the same year, he received the rank of Lieutenant at the Officer School of the Swiss Air Forces. During his service at the Space Domain, he developed the software currently used to detect, assess and follow the evolution of conjunctions between satellites ranging from high risk of collision to potential of optical and/or radio inspection. In his civil life, 1st Lt Magnin holds an MSc as Electronic Engineer from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL) where he is currently pursuing his PhD, on the topic of space electronic reconnaissance
