Perú Space Operations Center Commander Peruvian Air Force

He was admitted as a cadet to the Air Force Academy on March 15, 1999 with the specialty of Aeronautical Engineering. Qualified in aircraft maintenance in 2004, he was appointed to the Combat Unit "Air Group N°4 - La Joya Air Base" in the city of Arequipa. For 10 years he carried out technical activities until he was appointed Maintenance Squadron Commander of the Mirage 2000 P/DP combat aircraft in 2014 and qualified as an Air Technical Officer by Dassault Aviation of France. He was selected for the satellite technology transfer program in France in 2015 where he studied satellite engineering and graduated from Space School as a Satellite Flight Dynamics Engineer. He was head of the Mechanical, Thermal and Propulsion section, head of the Satellite Control Center, Head of Satellite Operations Manager, Head of the Flight Dynamics Systems section and Head of the Quality Assurance Unit at the Peruvian Space Agency where he worked during 7 years. In 2019 he was selected to study at the Paris War College - France, where he received the nomination for Excellence. He also studied a Master's degree in Defense and Industrial Dynamics at the University of Paris 2 (France) between 2019 and 2020. He has participated in the space exercises: PANAMAX in 2020 and 2021 as operator, Global Sentinel in 2022 as Regional SpOC, RESOLUTE SENTINEL 23 as Director of the multinational Joint Space Forces exercise and Global Sentinel 24 as White Cell. In 2023 he was appointed as the first Director of the Space Operations Center of the Aerospace Control Command; Finally, in 2024 he was appointed as a Commander of the very first Space independent Unit in the history of the Air Force: Space Operations Center of the Peruvian Air Force. He is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Astronomy and Astrophysics at the International University of Valencia (Spain). He speaks three languages, Spanish, French and English, and has been awarded the medal of merit for intellectual effort and for 20 and 25 years of uninterrupted service with the Peruvian cross for aeronautical merit. “Our actions on earth are consequences of what happens in space, we ought guarantee freedom of action there, where our interests and those of all humanity must remain intact.”
