New Speakers Announcement for 2020

Ahead of the Surface Warships 2020 conference we have confirmed two new senior experts to join our esteemed speaker faculty this January in London.

Along with 30 other speakers, these will be discussing the importance of Naval Power in a Digital Era with tailored sessions discussing current and future programmes, plans and challenges surrounding future technology, future operations and the future force structure.

Admiral Anthony David Radakin, CB, ADC, First Sea Lord, Royal Navy

Admiral Radakin commands more than 30,000 men and women, more than 90 warships, nuclear submarines and support vessels, the helicopters and jets of the Fleet Air Arm and the elite Naval infantry of the Royal Marines.

Mr. Alan R. Shaffer, Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment (A&S), US DoD

Mr. Shaffer is responsible to the Under Secretary of Defense for all matters pertaining to acquisition; contract administration; logistics and material readiness; installations and environment; operational energy; chemical, biological, and nuclear weapons; the acquisition workforce; and the defense industrial base.

Surface Warships 2020: Naval Power in a Digital Era

The Surface Warships conference has beome established as the premier meeting ground for the higher naval commands of the NATO alliance and partner states, attracting over 150 senior officials including navy commanders, directors of materiel, heads of strategic programs, capability planners, shipyard directors, as well as leading solution providers.

Over the course of 3 days, the event will centre on future capability development for an information-centric operating environment, focusing on the nature of Future Operations, the required Future Technologies, and the makeup of the Future Force Structure. 

The conference will allow the exchange of knowledge in the field of ship design, construction, and operations across the entire spectrum of surface warships – identifying solutions for modernising capabilities and enhancing interoperability to maintain maritime superiority against near-peer opponents and asymmetric threats.
